10 times putting booze in the CBB house was a bad idea
If there's one thing that makes for good TV, it's drunk celebrities, which is why Celebrity Big Brother plies the house with alcohol, resulting in at least one contestant embarrassing themselves in front of millions.
It only took six days to happen in CBB 2017, with reality star Austin Armacost downing too much red wine and telling X Factor USA contestant Stacy Francis that she was loud and annoying, before heading out into the garden to gyrate in his pants.
Meanwhile, married contestant/model Nicola McLean was being dangerously flirty in the smoking area with footballer Jamie O'Hara, who had to put her to bed (and ignore her asking him to tuck her in when the lights go out).
Jeeez! Let's take a look at some other boozy incidents from over the years…
1. FRANKIE COCOZZA'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
If there's one excuse for excessive booze in the CBB house, it's a birthday. And X Factor rogue Frankie Cocozza's in series nine was particularly debauched. It didn't take long for the celebrations to move to the hot tub, where the housemates started playing truth or dare (oh gawd).
Nicola McLean and Frankie almost kissed, Frankie streaked around the garden and actress Denise Welch got her boobs out. What's wrong with a nice, quiet game of pass the parcel? :'(
2. MEGAN MCKENNNA'S DRUNK RANT
Ex-On The Beach/TOWIE star Megan McKenna mistook the CBB house for the Sugar Hut in season 17, when she got drunk and started going off on one (over the cleaning, of all things). "I clean everyone's s**t up! If I wanna have a f**king drink, I can have a f**king drink. End of!" she screamed, before BB asked her to the diary room to calm down. Read: continue her rant, in which 98 per cent of words were bleeped out.
3. CHARLOTTE CROSBY WETTING THE BED
Big Brother definitely regretted giving the house alcohol after Geordie Shore's Charlotte Crosby got "mortal" and soiled her bedsheets in CBB 12. Although, the night before, Loose Women's Carol McGiffin didn't even believe Charlotte (who was rolling around in the garden) was intoxicated.
"Have you ever watched Geordie Shore?" she said. "Where they drink two or three bottles of vodka all night long… it's bullshit, I'm not worried about her."
Very sympathetic.
4. VERNE TROYER DRINK DRIVING
Drink driving is not allowed in real life, but you can just about get away with it in the CBB house, as long as you don't start ramming the diary room door with your mobility scooter, which is what actor Verne Troyer did.
After knocking back three glasses of bubbly at a champagne party the housemates won by not moaning for one whole hour, he was well over limit. He was coherent enough to go round chatting up Sugababe Mutya Buena and La Toya Jackson beforehand, though.
5. LAUREN GOODGER'S NIP SLIP
Drunk celebs plus swimming pools = inevitable accidents. When TOWIE's Lauren Goodger decided to go for a swim, she jumped into the pool and her swimsuit slipped down. Her on-screen fling, Geordie Shore's Ricci Guarnaccio, was the only one who seemed embarrassed, or even aware, since he alerted her to it. "It's not my f**king fault!" she slurred. The rule about eating and swimming should probably apply with drinking, too.
6. JASMINE WALTZ WASTED ON THE FIRST NIGHT
On model/actress Jasmine Waltz' first time in the CCB house in 2014, she wasted no time making a tit of herself by getting wasted on launch night. People hadn't even taken their name badges off before she was falling around the bedroom floor and biting Blue man Lee Ryan and TOWIE's Sam Faiers.
Lionel Blair was NOT happy. "I don't like her being like that," he said. "It's awful… that is upsetting me." Remind us never to invite Lionel to a house party.
7. TIFFANY POLLARD HAVING A, UM, NICE TIME IN THE TOILET
When reality star Tiffany Pollard drank an entire bottle of Prosecco (in CBB 17) to celebrate the end of an "Immunity weekend" she disappeared into the toilet, and could be heard saying, "Oh my gosh, I haven't come in, like, 30 days". Some interesting noises ensued and then she walked out of the bathroom looking a bit too happy with herself. Viewers were suitably shocked.
8. CAROL MCGIFFIN DRUNK. JUST DRUNK
After scolding Charlotte Crosby for getting too tipsy, Carol McGiffin looked pretty silly when she succumbed to BB's alcohol offerings herself. She spent a good 10 minutes slagging off model Sophie Anderton's lip fillers, then sat on the sofa barely coherent asking for more wine, and had to be sent to bed by Charlotte (OF ALL PEOPLE). TOWIE's Mario Falcone helped Charlotte carry her there giggling and snorting, then she spent another 10 minutes rolling around on the duvet trying to get her trousers off. Classy!
9. JEREMY JACKSON BEING UNBELIEVABLY INNAPROPRIATE
A night of drinking ended extremely badly in CBB 15 when Baywatch actor Jeremy Jackson started throwing up in the toilet. After model Chloe Goodman went to check he was okay, he opened her dressing gown and exposed her chest. Everyone in the house was furious and Jeremy was asked to leave. Quite rightly.
10. DONNY TOURETTE GETTING A HEAD START
This one isn't so much about Big Brother sending alcohol into the house so much as Towers Of London frontman Donny Tourette taking it into the house via his bloodstream. Forget Elstree Studios, this guy was on another planet.
Before long he was fully immersed in the hot tub fully clothed, and wearing his microphone, which inevitably broke, leading to a diary room telling off from Big Bro (he didn't care).
