Nestled in the middle of a 475-acre estate near Durham, this dog-friendly B&B is a listed Georgian house decked out with elegant furnishings, sofas you can sink into and roaring log fires at every turn. At Burnhopeside Hall, there are even great sash windows looking out over the woodlands for you to channel your inner-Pride and Prejudice.
Resident springer spaniels Max and Barney are welcoming to all pooches at the dog-friendly B&B, so bring your pooch and stroll the magnificent lawns or cycle alongside the river. Oversized beds, luxurious linen and fresh flowers also await.

The Penbontbren Luxury Bed and Breakfast, sitting in 32 acres of its own idyllic slice of countryside, in a converted 1860s farmhouse is only two miles from relatively unknown beaches.

This 18th century dog-friendly B&B is surrounded by private wooded parkland - not to mention its very own polo ground and equestrian cross country courses, all used for major competitions.
In the heart of the County Down, Tyrella offers those visiting an opportunity to explore a plethora of picturesque National Trust houses and gardens nearby, as well as brilliant dog walking opportunities on its private beach.
Open fires and dinners cooked by the owner himself set the tone for an evening of luxurious relaxation, often making new friends in the process.

6) Johnby Hall Bed And Breakfast, Cumbria
This family and dog-friendly B&B on the edge of the Lake District is set in an Elizabethan manor house and built onto the side of a 14th century pele tower. Johnby Hall Bed & Breakfast offers guests - both two-legged and four-legged - the opportunity to explore the extensive gardens and meander the adjoining woodlands.
Breakfast is quite the affair here, taken in the 6th century Great Hall, and the produce on offer includes bacon and sausages from the free-range pigs and eggs from the free-range chickens that live within the grounds.

Transforming a former vicarage into a quirky, dog-friendly B&B, the owners of Stow House in the Yorkshire Dales have left no corner untouched in their quest to create a haven for dog lovers.
Views across Wensleydale, Bishopdale and acres of private garden, frame the Victorian interiors with a gorgeous green hue. Floors, banisters and sash windows have been restored, and sofas given new life with velvet covering.
Expect cocktails expertly created by owner Sarah, and hearty breakfasts served up by her husband, Phil.

8) Belmount Hall, Cumbria
Formerly owned by none other than Beatrix Potter, the illustrious Belmount Hall sits proudly in the heart of the Lake District, offering views across Esthwaite Water and the Lakeland Hills.
The dog-friendly B&B's bedrooms have had their period features accentuated, and complemented by both antique pieces and modern en-suites (complete with a power shower).
Dog-friendly pub grub can be found in the centre of Hawkshead, just a 15-minute walk away, while the shores of Windermere is just under 20 minutes away by car.

9) Bulleigh Barton Manor, Devon
At the end of the leafy driveway, the quaint Bulleigh Barton Manor looks postcard-perfect within the acres of grounds - which themselves contain a pool, ponds a big colourful garden.
Owners Liz and Mark have restored the house with great attention to detail, uncovering beams and original features, adding personal touches with original art and books. You can explore Dartmoor and the south coast with your pooch, before returning to a friendly welcome by resident dog Zennor.

With an almost perfect rating from previous guests, The Willows embraces families and pets in all their chaos.
